Kia Ora katoa today for the S.L.J ( summer learning journey ) I made a Disney collectors card with Google draw and your animal has to be a sea creature from a Disney movie but it has to be a made up character, one that’s not from the movie your making your creature from.

My creature is names seawave he is a stingray and the movie he is from is Moana, And quick question have you seen the Moana 2 yet?

                         Why kids should listen to music while doing their work 

Have you ever started singing a song in your head and then the person next to you started singing it too?

 Kia ora my name is Bella I am a year 5 and today i’m going to tell you 3 reasons why I think kids should listen to music while they are doing their work. But before i tell you did you know that plants grow faster if you sing to them or talk to them nicely. 

Number one : I want this to happen because did you know when you listen to music while doing work, studying, cleaning etc you actually do it faster, and focus on it better. So it will help the teachers and students, because the students will focus on their work properly and learn better, and the teachers don’t have to worry about the kids not doing their work. And I quote: there is music in every child. The teacher’s job is to find it and nurture it. ~ frances clark

Number two : I know what you’re thinking, “ but kids can’t focus on a test while listening to crazy loud music ” I know , but teachers can easily ban loud or explicit music while doing a test but they’ll need to always ban explicit music for obvious reasons but anyway during the test the teachers can put on some nice, beautiful, excellent, relaxing music on to help the kids easily focus on their test. And i quote: where words fall music speaks. ~ Hans christian andersen 

Number three :  one of the things that teachers hate the most is noise. Did you know that 26% of teachers below the age of 40 lose their hearing because of students being loud so I assume that most of those teachers had to stop teaching so that makes a lot less teachers. and when students listen to music they are all calm and relaxed, and when people are calm and relaxed they are very quiet and so then the teachers can not lose their hearing and they will not leave. so more teachers will be at schools. So students can learn better with more teachers . And i quote: music can change the world ~ Beethoven  

So if teachers can agree with this statement more students will get far in life, go to university, get very smart, and more just from listening to music  so you can focus better. I hope you stay kind, be happy, and care, share , learn, and grow. ♡

The Ugly Duckling 🦆by Bella

Once upon a time there was a beautiful shimmering lake there were some duck eggs. 🪺

 In about three weeks the eggs hatched and the most beautiful, gorgeous, and cutest ducklings came out. 🦆

 Except for one egg. It didn’t hatch.🥚

But then after days, and days, and weeks, and weeks the egg hatched and a grayish, weird looking duckling came out of the egg.🦆

He looked in the river reflection and saw himself and he said “do all of the ducklings look like this” and then one of the pretty ducklings went up to him and said “nope you’re just ugly “ then the pretty duckling laughed and went off. The ugly duckling said “you big bully!”😢

Then the next day the duckling woke up and he went into the river where the beautiful ducklings were and he went up to them and he said “ hi can i please play with you?” then the pretty ducklings said “ no you’re ugly you can’t play with us go away!” 💔

The duckling went off crying and he ran away to try to find another family because his siblings were mean. 👪

So the duckling went on a journey to find a better family. 👍 

So he woke up in the morning and started his journey. 🏜

So first the duckling went out of the lake where his family was and went into a forest where he found a beautiful gigantic lake. 🏞

The duckling had a sneak peak behind the bushes and he saw some swans peacefully swimming in the lake.🦢

 The duckling tried staying quiet but he needed to move and the swans heard the bush rumbling so they went and had a look and they spotted the duckling they said “hey little guy are you okay” the duckling said “yes i am but i thought you would be mean to me” the swans said “why would we be mean to you” and the duckling said “because im ugly” and the swans said “ no your not your beautiful “ the duckling said “ do you really think so “ and the swan said of course “.👍

 Then the duckling realized that he was beautiful on the inside and out. 💕

Kia Ora katoa yesterday we had some VR peapole from Blake come to our school to teach us about pollution and littering in the ocean and since they were from a VR company we could go on an actual VR!!! It was really fun and we saw different beaches in NZ and all of the beaches we saw were in the north island I forgot what the names of the beaches were but they were on the right of the north island and they also taught us about this guy from NZ called peter and he traveld around the whole world on a boat and he went to the amazon forest and he died and the VR was so fun and I keeped hitting my friend on accident so she took of her VR and stared hitting me and I couldnt see and towards the end things got a bit scary because when I had the VR on I turned around and there was a creepy scuba man staring at me and the there was a sting ray and he went towards us really fast and every body screamed they went AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
